Born and raised in the small town of Belt, Montana, James Pope’s strong work ethic was shaped early on by long days spent working on ranches and farms, as well as the values instilled by his parents’ military background. A true outdoorsman at heart, James has been skiing since the age of five and has always felt most at home in the mountains.
Before joining Deer Crest, James spent five years in the Bay Area working in the fast-paced world of tech startups as an engineer. While he loved the innovation and challenges of that space, he ultimately found his calling in a more grounded lifestyle—one that blends his professional experience with his love of the outdoors.
As Community Director at Deer Crest, James brings a thoughtful, hands-on approach to resident engagement and property management. He’s passionate about fostering a welcoming, well-run community and feels privileged to call the Wasatch Mountains home.
